In 1975 all residents of counties and villages flooded were relocated there in a camp near called El Dorado (which is now known as Relocation Colonies 1, 2 and 3). With this construction not only fertile fields were flooded crops and livestock, but also archaeological remains were lost, because in this place there were remains of pre-Columbian indigenous cultures, Lenca tribes that lived hundreds of years ago.<\/p>\n<div><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"The Cerron Grande Reservoir\" src=\"https:\/\/lh6.googleusercontent.com\/-AqSMem8arLg\/UNx765liK4I\/AAAAAAAAHVc\/ztNCEQlJQcw\/s500\/embalsecerrongrande.jpg\" alt=\"The Cerron Grande Reservoir\" width=\"500\" height=\"297\" \/><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>The construction of the dam also flooded part of the road that was the entrance from The Coyolito to Chalatenango, which is now known as &#8220;Old Street&#8221;, and had to build a new road to Chalate.
