But then they realized that climate was not right for them, because they were sick. Some of these families returned to Spain, but others migrated to Chalatenango.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"White people of Chalatenango\" src=\"http:\/\/4.bp.blogspot.com\/-wtggQYz0pws\/TssJOxO0zsI\/AAAAAAAAAfQ\/FAs79qm231g\/s320\/5757425924_b6e7e00c87_z.jpg\" alt=\"White people of Chalatenango\" width=\"232\" height=\"320\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p><div class=\"6887a485b8fcc67bd34d1f57a89f1448\" data-index=\"2\" style=\"float: none; margin:20px 0 20px 0; text-align:center;\">\n<center>\r\n<script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script>\r\n<!-- medioresp -->\r\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\r\n     style=\"display:block\"\r\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-8806496717135445\"\r\n     data-ad-slot=\"1171128726\"\r\n     data-ad-format=\"auto\"><\/ins>\r\n<script>\r\n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n<\/script>\r\n<\/center>\n<\/div>\n\n<p>According to the book \u201c<em>El Salvador: History of their villages, towns, and cities<\/em>\u201d by Jorge Lard\u00e9 and Larin, the geographer William Dawson stated that <em>\u201cChalatenago was sent to indigenous people by white people in 1791 by Baron de Carondelet, the governor and General of the Kingdom of Guatemala<\/em><strong>\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>It is believed that this area was occupied what is now Holy Name of Mary.
